Dr. Sara Safari is an author, speaker, mountain climber, college professor, electrical engineer, and advocate for women empowerment. She is the founder and president of a nonprofit called, Climb Your Everest, that focuses on empowering marginalized young women through educational programs.

She received The Global Citizen award from the United Nations Association in 2015. She is a board member and director of development for the Empower Nepali Girls foundation. She also received the 2017 award for Outstanding Practice with Broad Impact in the area of women and leadership from the International Leadership Association. Sara is the first Iranian in history to climb the Seven Summits, the seven highest peaks on each continent. Her historic Everest climb is featured in the Netflix documentary, “Aftershock.”

Internationally known educational consultant and nurse educator, Tim Bristol, is a faculty member at Walden University, consultant for the Haiti Nursing Foundation and FSIL nursing school, and owner of NurseTim, Inc. Dr. Bristol helps empower schools not only across the country, but also across the globe — at all levels of education and accreditation. He has led teams through initial program approval, interim reports, and reaccreditation as a faculty member, administrator, and consultant, and specializes in active learning for class, clinical, and lab environments. Schools and government organizations around the world consult with Dr. Bristol to integrate new standards, introduce curricular innovations, make education more accessible, and develop strategic plans. As a faculty development and curriculum design specialist, he is an expert in bringing the evidence-base of nursing, healthcare, and education to students and faculty in the states, and as far away as Haiti. Dr. Bristol also writes and contributes to numerous publications, and is known for his motto: “Today we will learn how to learn.”

Dr. Bill Dorfman has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years and has dedicated his life to helping others. Dr. Bill has been featured on TV shows like ABC’s Extreme Makeover, CBS’s The Doctors, Larry King Live, Steve Harvey, and Oprah.

He was the co-founder of Discus Dental–one of the world’s leading dental companies whose dental products, BriteSmile and Zoom!, have become household names worldwide. From its inception, Discus Dental’s gross sales were over $1.3 billion and was sold to Philips in 2010. Dr. Bill is a passionate philanthropist, the recipient of fourteen lifetime achievement awards, and the proud father of three daughters.

Gary Byron has presented to over 40,000 people from ages kindergarten to adult.  He started 3 businesses, has an MBA in Management from Loyola Marymount University, and a BS in Chemistry from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania.  When he got bored, he wrestled an alligator, did standup comedy, and coached little league baseball.  The toughest was little league baseball. Currently, he is General Manager of Dale Carnegie Southern Los Angeles, and a certified Dale Carnegie Senior Trainer.   His training specialties are Sales, Effective Communication and Human Relations, and High Impact Presentations.

Jean Morgan is energized when empowering people and organizations for success through training and coaching. He has more than 40 years of training and leadership experience in business and ministry, providing one-on-one and large-group training. He is a skilled leader, trainer, and motivator with practical interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.  His breadth of experience includes domestic and international experience.

Prior to his work at Dale Carnegie, Jean served as the Director of Hellenic Theological School in Athens, Greece, where he led paid and volunteer staff to create the content for a new undergraduate degree program. Living in Europe for 17 years, he developed strong cross-cultural communication skills.

Jean began his journey as a leader in various capacities while in the U.S. Navy. He started as a recruit in boot camp, where, within the first two weeks, he was promoted to Recruit Chief Petty Officer. He led various teams of enlisted service members during his stateside and overseas assignments.

Although a leader for many years, Jean was hooked once he was introduced to Dale Carnegie in 2009 because of his desire to empower others for success. Jean is a Certified Senior Trainer in the Dale Carnegie Course, Leadership Training for Managers, Sales Success, High Impact Presentations programs, and Corporate Solutions; and a certified Dale Carnegie Leadership Coach.

One of Nancy’s greatest joys is working directly with individuals and leaders and witnessing their transformations. Prior to joining Dale Carnegie of Southern Los Angeles in 2004, she excelled throughout a 20-year career with Delta Air Lines. In 2000, she was promoted to Learning Manager, where she regularly developed management teams.

In 2004, specializing in aerospace, her Dale Carnegie career highlighted her passion to influence individuals to perform optimally. Technical experts from various STEM professions, including many Boeing and Northrop Grumman managers, have benefited from Nancy’s relationship-building coaching and her ability to help people effectively present. Using her expertise, she specializes in developing and delivering Dale Carnegie seminars for lead generation, motivation, and inspiration.

Deanna J. Lucci represents institutions of higher education in litigation, regulatory and accreditation matters. Deanna has significant experience representing institutions in cases filed by students, team members and regulators involving dismissals, terminations, discrimination, misrepresentation and more.  She also regularly advocates on behalf of institutions before state agencies in matters relating to program approvals.  

Deanna is a former judicial law clerk to Magistrate Judge Bernard G. Skomal in the United States District Court, Southern District of California.  She previously served as Assistant Deputy Counsel to the Hon. Deborah A. Kaplan, Administrative Judge of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County, Civil Branch, and has served as a law clerk in five courts throughout New York City.  Deanna previously gained litigation experience at a family law firm in New York.

Deanna regularly provides pro bono legal representation to victims of domestic violence through the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program, has successfully represented an asylum applicant from Afghanistan, and has volunteered with the California Innocence Project. 

Deanna is admitted to practice law in California and New York.  Deanna is a 2008 graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of The Conscience, the law student newspaper, and a cum laude graduate of California State University, Fullerton.  Prior to attending law school, Deanna worked as a copy editor for the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin in Ontario, California.

Mr. Greg Nathanson is a business executive, consultant and seasoned operator accomplished in aggressively growing companies over the course of his 25 year career.

In a prior role, Greg served as President and Chief Executive Officer of AnaJet, LLC, a print technology company serving customers in over 45 countries. Prior to joining AnaJet, Mr. Nathanson served as an executive for U.S. Education Corporation and President of Western Career College, a regionally accredited, multi-campus private college system.  He also held various positions in the Los Angeles area, including television writer, story editor and producer.  Currently, Greg also served on the Governing Board of Carrington College and as a director for AnaJet, Inspire, Success Education College, and Eagle Gate College.  Prior to his current board positions, Nathanson served as a director for Eskaton, Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region and as past president of the California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools. Mr. Nathanson helped to create the annual Management Boot Camp at CAPPS.  He also has presented on various topics at conferences, accreditation workshops and executive training seminars. A graduate of UCLA, Mr. Nathanson has two children and currently resides in Southern California.

Steven P. Howard is a California attorney and certified public accountant.  His firm, The Law Offices of Steven P. Howard, is located in Orange County.   Steve specializes in corporate law, mergers and acquisition, contracts, general transactional matters, tax planning and compliance and sophisticated estate planning.

Steve first started working with Marsha Fuerst over twenty years ago.  Since then, he has worked with the College and Mitchell and is honored to be part of the SEC’s Quality Growth.

Steve received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Southern California in 1990.  He received his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in 1993 and his LLM in Taxation at Southern Methodist University in 1994.

Steve resides in south Orange County with his wife, Jodi.  He has two adult children.

Michael Stoll is a successful entrepreneur, real estate investor, and developer with a focus on single-family and multi-family opportunities. With a strong background in business and retail, Michael has an impressive track record of building successful companies and leading them to growth and success.

In 2003, Michael founded UT Brands, a company that manufactures and distributes housewares to some of the top retailers in the country. As the President of UT Brands for 15 years, Michael played a key role in the company’s growth and success. Prior to his work at UT Brands, Michael was involved in the retail and distribution business, gaining valuable experience and skills that have helped him in his current ventures.

After attending California State University Long Beach, Michael joined his father in creating Stoll Engine Company, a marine products retailer and distribution company with locations across the country. Born and raised in Southern California, Michael now resides in Newport Beach with his wife Amy and their two children, a 21-year-old son attending Indiana University and a 19-year-old daughter attending University Wisconsin Madison.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Michael is an active member of the community and is dedicated to giving back. He sits on the Executive Board for the Jewish Foundation of Orange County and is the co-founder of the Solomon Society, a Jewish men’s group in Orange County that is part of the Jewish Federation of Orange County. Michael’s commitment to his community and his passion for business make him a respected and successful entrepreneur and leader.

As a CPA, Mr. MacBurney’s practice centers around tax advice and financial consulting. His consulting experience revolves primarily around the purchase and sale of assets, 1031 exchanges, audit representation, tax settlements, non-profit organizations, as well as assisting in the estate planning area. Mr. MacBurney also specializes in setting up accounting and internal control systems. He’s a proud Trojan who graduated from the University of Southern California in 1986. Mr. MacBurney always takes a great deal of pride in solving the most challenging and difficult situations his clients bring to him and he is especially pleased with his affiliation with SEC.
